On July 11, an environmental impact assessment was announced for the project of resourceful utilization of fluorine-containing wastewater from the Bayan Obo mining area to produce fluoride salts. The construction includes Phase I, which involves an 8,000 mt/year multifunctional soluble fluoride salt plant (a comprehensive production facility for magnesium, zinc, and potassium) and public auxiliary facilities (such as fire protection and emergency response), with an investment of 100 million and a construction period from July 2025 to December 2025. Phase II includes a 20,000 mt/year aluminum fluoride plant with a by-product of 10,000 mt/year white carbon black, and a 20,000 mt/year sodium fluorosilicate plant, with a construction period from July 2025 to December 2026 and an investment of 250 million. Phase III includes a 20,000 mt/year aluminum fluoride plant with a by-product of 10,000 mt/year white carbon black.
